For people with IgAN, you should be cautious with salt substitutes like Lo-Salt because they often contain potassium chloride. While reducing sodium is important, your kidneys may have trouble processing high potassium levels. Always check with your nephrologist before using salt substitutes. Instead, try herbs, spices, lemon juice, or garlic for flavor. Mrs. Dash (salt-free seasoning) is generally a safer option.
