C3 Glomerosopathy

A myIgANcenter Subscriber asked a question 💭

I have been diagnosed with C3 glomerosopathy, I live in Brazil and the disease is not talked about here, is there anyone who lives with this problem who could share something with me that could help me?

C3G is a rare kidney condition caused by gene mutations affecting complement proteins. Think of it like a car without brakes - your complement system keeps activating, causing ongoing inflammation and kidney damage.

Common symptoms you may experience include:
- Swelling in ankles, feet, and hands
- Feeling tired frequently
- Foamy urine
- Blood in urine There are two types of C3G - C3 glomerulonephritis and dense deposit disease. Your doctor may need to do a kidney biopsy to determine which type you have, as they damage the kidneys differently.

While living with C3G can be challenging, connecting with others who understand your experience is valuable. The myIgANcenter community includes members with C3G who share their experiences and support each other through their health journeys.
