Meats good to eat are chicken, fish and I added turkey. I do not cook with salt, use only a little sea salt when I plate my food. I have been on a CKD diet for around 4 years and my kidney is now stable. I googled foods for CKD when my dr. gave me print outs for accepted foods. There are plenty to make a good diet.

Reccomended meat is chicken, fish and I added turkey. No red meat. I have followed a CKD diet by googling all foods on a CKD diet, it has become my lifestyle. After 4 years of this lifestyle my kidney is now stable. I lost one kidney to cancer so I try to do everything I can to keep my one kidney as healthy as I can.

It sounds like your husband is eating all the right things. I am eating the roasted chicken sandwiches from Subway with lots of vegetables. Eggs are good too. My nephrologist said to eat protein with each meal. 😀

I have stage 3a. I avoid beef, processed meat, processed and frozen foods, and I discovered veggie patties of all kinds are loaded with sodium. I was buying the roasted chicken sandwich at Subway but the chicken is high in sodium. Now I get tuna sandwich at Subway or make my own. I love cheese and found that Swiss cheese is the lowest in sodium. I eat lactose free yogurt daily.
